Since its launch in the summer of 2004, Barrhaven This Week has undergone many transformations.
Formerly known as the Barrhaven Weekender, the newspaper joined the community with a small, two reporter, two sales rep staff but a big goal of being the voice of the community.
Though a modest 16-page publication in its earliest stages, Barrhaven This Week has grown in page count and in size of staff in the last four years. It now routinely runs more than 40 pages and has a staff of better than a dozen.
Slowly, but surely, the newspaper has made inroads in the community, and now with its own distribution, is available on doorsteps and in many community locations.
Respected for its quality and variety of news, arts and sports coverage, Barrhaven This Week learned that it is indeed the top newspaper in Barrhaven following the 2007 Ontario Community Newspaper Awards. It finished eighth in the province in its circulation class, making it the top-ranked publication in its class in Eastern Ontario.
